Best EDC Knives Under 100 Dollars [Top 3 List]…

1. The Spyderco Delica…

Spyderco Delica

The Delica is one of Spyderco’s most popular knife designs. Simply put, it’s an amazing knife! It’s also fairly affordable considering the features and level of quality you’re getting…

Great Blade Steel – The blade steel on the Spyderco Delica is VG-10. VG-10 is considered a high end blade steel. It originated in Japan and was first popularly used in the construction of Japanese Chef’s knives. Spyderco uses it in many of their most popular designs, and it’s a great knife steel because it resists corrosion very well and it also maintains a fine edge pretty well too. It also isn’t too difficult to sharpen, so you’ll be able to put a razor-sharp edge back on your knife without a lot of hassle, and it’s not insanely expensive either.

High Performance Blade – The Spyderco Delica has a version of a drop point blade with a full flat grind. The full flat grind makes it a very good cutter and slicer, and it keeps the blade relatively strong at the same time. It really is the perfect blade for an EDC knife because it can be used well in a number of different utility scenarios.

Lightweight and Comfortable Handle – The handle on the Delica is made from Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon or FRN. FRN is a great handle material for a number of reasons. First of all, it’s extremely lightweight, which means you’ll be able to comfortably carry your knife around in your pocket all day long. In addition to that, it feels very comfortable in your hand, and it also gives you a great amount of traction when you’re gripping the knife.

Strong Locking Mechanism – The Delica uses the Back Lock locking mechanism. The Back Lock is a very common locking system among folding knives, and the reason why it’s so popular is because its simple and strong. Spyderco also features the Boye Dent on the Delica’s locking bar which is an extra safety feature that will help prevent you from accidentally unlocking the blade if you grip the handle too tightly.

All in all, the Delica comes to you with great blade steel, a high performing blade shape and grind, a very comfortable and lightweight handle, and a strong locking system. It’s my top choice for an EDC knife under 100 bucks!

2. The Spyderco Chaparral (Lightweight)…

Spyderco Chaparral

The Spyderco Chaparral is a very elegant gentleman’s knife. Some of it’s versions can get a little pricey because of the features that are packed into it. However, the lightweight version is under the 100 dollar mark and is a very high value knife…

Amazing Blade Steel – The blade steel on the Spyderco Chaparral is CTS XHP. CTS XHP is considered a premium blade steel. It’s very resistant to rust and corrosion, and it maintains its edge for a very long period of time. Simply put, it’s a great knife steel that will stay sharp for you for a very long time.

Comfortable and Lightweight Handle – The handle on the lightweight version of the Spyderco Chaparral is Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon (FRN) just like the Delica. Again, I love FRN for EDC knives because it’s incredibly lightweight, which makes the knife a joy to carry around in your pocket all day. It’s also very comfortable in your hand and gives you a great amount of purchase on the handle when you’re using the knife.

Elegant Blade Shape – The blade on the Chaparral is a version of a drop point blade. It has a leaf-like shape to it, and I think it looks very attractive. It also has a full flat grind which makes it an amazing cutter and slicer. It’s not a heavy-duty blade, but for most EDC tasks, it’ll get the job done very easily.

Simple and Strong Locking Mechanism – The Chaparral uses a Back Lock locking mechanism. Like I mentioned before with the Delica, the Back Lock system is very popular because it’s simple and strong. It’s a great mechanism, and it locks the Chaparral’s blade out very securely.

All in all, the Chaparral offers you an amazing blade steel, and very comfortable and lightweight handle, a high performing and very attractive blade shape, and a strong and simple locking mechanism. I think it’s an amazing value, particularly in the lightweight version.

3. The Spyderco Endura…

Spyderco Endura

The Spyderco Endura is basically a larger version of the Spyderco Delica. It’s an amazing EDC knife in its own right, particularly if you’re looking for a large EDC blade…

Large High-Performance Blade – The blade on the Spyderco Endura is large and very strong. Because it’s so large you have a lot of blade to cut with, and the saber grind makes the blade insanely tough. I also think it looks great, and it performs incredibly well at pretty much any EDC cutting task.

Great Blade Steel – The Spyderco Endura uses the same VG-10 blade steel that is used in its little brother, the Spyderco Delica. Like I mentioned earlier, VG-10 is a great blade steel because it does a good job at resisting rust and corrosion, and it also holds its edge for a pretty long time. I really like it, especially on an everyday carry knife that will get a lot of daily use.

Lightweight and Comfortable Handle – Again, much like it’s little brother the Delica, the Endura has a fiberglass reinforced nylon (FRN) handle. The FRN handle is going to be very lightweight, which is even more important with the Endura because of its large size, and it’s also going to give you a comfortable handle to grip with plenty of texturing to keep you locked on the knife.

Simple and Strong Locking Mechanism – The Endura also uses the Back Lock locking system and features a Boye Dent (again, just like the Delica). That back lock is going to lock out the blade securely for you, and the Boye Dent will help prevent you from accidentally unlocking the blade if you happen to grip the knife too tightly.

All in all, the Endura offers you a very strong and large blade, a great blade steel, a very comfortable and lightweight handle, and a strong locking mechanism. It’s an amazing option if you want a large knife that’s still easy to carry for EDC use.
